For the first time ever, the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) will host the Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQs), a brand-new path for four additional teams to punch their ticket to the Rocket League World Championship in Lyon - Décines, France, in September.

The LCQs give the season’s most determined teams a final chance to go big on the global stage. And with four extra spots up for grabs, the World Championship field expands from 16 to 20 teams in 2025. Welcome to the most competitive Worlds season yet!

How the LCQs Work

After the RLCS Raleigh Major Grand Final on June 29th, the top 16 teams from each region will automatically qualify for the World Championship, based on points earned from both online events and LANs.

All remaining teams are released from roster lock, giving them the freedom to rebuild, regroup, and reinvent ahead of the LCQs. Whether you're a powerhouse that stumbled or a fresh squad with something to prove, this is your shot!

There will be four Last Chance Qualifiers in total, with each event awarding one coveted spot in the World Championship Play-In Stage. These LCQs are allotted to the four regions that achieve the highest average LAN point totals over the course of the season. This ensures that the most competitive regions earn the opportunity to send an additional representative to the global stage.

In a major shift from traditional regional restrictions, players are allowed to sign up for the LCQ for any region, regardless of where they competed during the regular season. This opens the door for new team formations and cross-regional rosters, adding another layer of unpredictability to the competition!

However, there’s one critical rule: a player may only participate in a single LCQ. Once a player has competed in one LCQ, they are immediately ineligible to take part in any of the others.

LCQ Format Breakdown

The LCQs will mirror the structure of the RLCS Open Qualifiers:

  1. Double Elimination
  2. Swiss Groups
  3. GSL Groups
  4. Hybrid Elimination Bracket
