As previously announced, the Season 9 Rocket League World Championship live event was canceled due to global health concerns regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19). We evaluated next steps and are making the Regional Championships the pinnacle of Season 9. Because of this, we are adding $250,000 of additional prizing to the Regional Championships across the four regions that were set to compete at the World Championship.

That means that these will be the biggest and most important Regional Championships we have ever held. For the North American and European Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS), the Regional Championships will have $100,000 added to each of their respective prize pools. This additional prize pool will be split among the top four teams that would have qualified for the World Championship from each Regional Championship. Here's how it will be distributed:

  • First Place: $52,000 additional prizing ($70,000 now)

  • Second Place: $27,000 additional prizing ($40,000 now)

  • Tied for Third Place: $10,500 additional prizing each ($16,500 now)

We'll also be awarding $25,000 of additional prizing to our partner regions in Oceania and South America for their Regional Championships, respectively. The additional prizing will be split among the top two teams from each Regional Championship. Please find how it will be distributed below:

OCE:

  • First Place: $15,000 additional prizing ($37,500 now)

  • Second Place: $10,000 additional prizing ($24,000 now)

SAM:

  • First Place: $15,000 additional prizing ($23,000 now)

  • Second Place: $10,000 additional prizing ($17,000 now)
