It’s true! Just announced during the Xbox E3 2017 Briefing, Rocket League is being updated for Xbox One X.

Due on Xbox One X in 2018, Rocket League aims to take full advantage of the horsepower found in Microsoft’s new console. We’re still in the early stages of development, but when complete, our goals for Xbox One X are 60 frames per second at 4K with full HDR (High Dynamic Range) support if you’re playing Rocket League on an HDR-friendly TV.

We will share more information on our Xbox One X release once we are closer to launch. And for those who own Rocket League on Xbox One or Xbox One S, don’t worry, your copy will travel with you to the Xbox One X if you pick up the new console (as will all of your stats and items).

Bonus News: Xbox Live Gold and Rocket League

Speaking of Xbox One, anyone who purchases a three-month Xbox Live Gold subscription card from June 12 through June 30 will receive a FREE copy of Rocket League!

If you buy a physical subscription card at a local retailer, your Rocket League code will be printed on your receipt, and can be attached to any Xbox Live account that does not already own the game. (Update: Offer only available for a limited time at participating retailers in select countries; see retailers for details.) If you're new to the game or Xbox Live Gold or have a friend who's in the market for either one, now's a great time to take the shot!
